Portland, OR - North American hardwood plywood leader Columbia Forest Products, manufacturer of PureBondTM urea formaldehyde-free plywood and particleboard, has been appointed by adhesive producer Hercules Inc. on an exclusive basis to provide sales and service of its cutting-edge, formaldehyde-free adhesive technologies to the composite wood panel industry.

Columbia will be selling these products through its newly formed technology marketing division. The company's PureBond product, introduced two years ago, is the composite wood products industry's first cost-competitive urea formaldehyde-free hardwood plywood panel. "We have learned a great deal about integrating these soy-based adhesives into composite panel manufacturing," Columbia Vice President of Technology Steve Pung said. "We look forward to sharing this knowledge and experience as we bring the technology to the rest of the composite panel industry."
